Mill Neck Manor House
About
Mill Neck Manor House
Perched atop the north shore of Long Island, Mill Neck Manor is more than just a stately Tudor Revival mansion—it’s a symbol of vision, purpose, and enduring commitment to the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community.
Built in 1927 as the summer estate of cosmetics heiress Lillian Sefton Dodge, the 86-acre property was acquired in 1949 by a group of Lutheran pastors with a dream: to create a place where Deaf children could receive a high-quality education in a supportive, faith-centered environment. That dream became Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf, the first in what would grow into the Mill Neck Family of Organizations.
Today, Mill Neck Manor stands as the centerpiece of our campus and a proud representation of the Foundation’s legacy and stewardship. With its original stained-glass windows, hand-carved oak paneling, and sweeping views of the Long Island Sound, the Manor continues to inspire awe—and action.
