A Message From Our Superintendent
Dr. Bradley Porché, Ed.D.
As Superintendent, I am thrilled to introduce our updated website, a dynamic resource designed to enhance communication, accessibility, and engagement for our students, families, staff, and community.
Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf remains deeply committed to our mission of providing high-quality, accessible education that empowers Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students to achieve their fullest potential.
Our vision is to foster an inclusive, language-rich environment where every student is supported, valued, and respected.
I invite you to explore our new site, stay informed, and join us in our dedication to excellence in Deaf education.
Limitless Potential Begins Here
A place where Deaf and hard-of-hearing students learn, grow, and are empowered to discover who they are and who they can become.
Welcome to Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf, a leading school for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students on Long Island. Our community is dedicated to education, empowerment, and creating opportunities for every student, from early childhood through high school and into adult life.
At Mill Neck, we help students recognize their potential, advocate for themselves, embrace their individuality and Deaf identity, and strive to achieve their personal best. Our bilingual approach fosters language development and academic growth through American Sign Language (ASL) and English in a supportive, language-rich learning environment.
We believe every achievement, big or small, deserves recognition. By providing equal access to language, education, and opportunity, we empower Deaf and hard-of-hearing students to learn, grow, and thrive. Together, we are one community committed to helping every child build the skills, confidence, and independence to reach their fullest potential.
“Congratulations Heaven! We can’t wait to see what you accomplish next.” – Michelle O’Brien, MNMSD Principal
Student Spotlight
Meet Heaven
We are proud to celebrate Heaven for being named Student of the Quarter at Nassau BOCES.
As a first-year student in the Fashion Design Program at the Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center, Heaven has distinguished herself through her academic dedication, technical talent, and collaborative spirit. A focused and driven learner, she brings that same commitment to excellence to Mill Neck as a junior, earning first honors, serving as President of Student Body Government, and competing on the Academic Bowl team.
This recognition reflects her hard work, leadership, and bright future ahead.
What We Have Going On
School Calendar
Our daughter, Olivia, started the Parent Infant Program (PIP) at Mill Neck in 2022 and recently moved up to the nursery class. From the very beginning, navigating her hearing loss diagnosis felt overwhelming, but the incredible support from Ms. Leslie, Ms. Ryan, and the entire PIP community made all the difference. Through their guidance and Olivia’s resilience, we have gained the confidence and knowledge to face the future, and we couldn’t be more grateful for this amazing program that became our second home.
